i just returned home from the wisdom qigong retreat with the ever-beautiful gabrielle euteneuer (universal tao senior instructor) at ao wira. there were seven women as well as myself there, where we shared a beautiful weekend of qigong exercises, breathing exercises and sounds to connect all the glands in the body and balance the hormone system, being cleansed with white sage smoke (gorgeous), rituals to connect deeper, clearing our energy, being fed the most gorgeous vegetarian dishes, and having a lovely spa and sauna surrounded by the forest at our convenience. I feel so inspired, full of love and passion, glowing...

a few weeks ago, i bought two premium tickets for deepak chopra's seminar, as i was a wee bit anxious he was going to sell out - which he did, and also because i have wanted to hear him speak FOREVER. Anyway, on the night of the seminar, I was given vip tickets from my very generous boss! ahhh!!! I could not believe!!!! so i gave my premium tickets away outside the event - which was incredibly difficult to do as everyone is so paro and cautious of free things these days - sad but so true! but I didn't want to waste the tickets and if anything, wanted someone else to enjoy deepak's brilliance. so two very lucky strangers received premium seats in the seminar! i hope they enjoyed! <3

deepak started at 6pm in the winter gardens for the 20 or so vip's that attended, did a whole question and answer section, spoke about life, thoughts, being, manifesting, etc... in amongst signing books and meeting people. he then spoke at his main seminar in front of a full house at the civic, and at one point the whole place was meditating! it was incredible. i am so proud and happy to say i met deepak, one of my ultimate inspirations and definitely one of my favourite authors. he asked my name!

i wrote a few notes from his main seminar (things that stood out to me and compacted a bit to you can read easier), which i would love to share as per request from many of my friends;;

- you are a flowing stream of information and energy

-we are not our physical bodies

-everything in the universe gets recycled, even souls, we are a recycling eco-system (!)

-the mind is a relational process

-every state in your mind will come across in your body

-brain: chemicals/electrical impulses/phenomenon

-you are either one of two things; interpreting from the past or making choices about the future (LOVE THIS)

-karma: past/memories/experience/time

-dream: imagination about future/desire

-your soul is on a journey through cosmic time

-occam's razor - simple is best

-the soul cannot be found in the body because its not in the body

"im not in the body, the body is in me, im not in the mind, the mind is in me, im not in the world, the world is in me"

-"physical reality" - molecules; 25% of universe is invisible/dark matter; 75% dark energy/space expanding; 5% helium/hydrogen

the body is made up of atoms/particles - 99% empty space - SOUL?

-everything is a vibration, including thoughts

-the essential nature of the world is not physical

-ON: energy/information

-OFF: no energy/objects/infinite possibility/infinite correlation

-every cell performing with itself/universe

-there is nothing more important than being in touch with oneself

-consciousness creates reality

-possibilities are only in ones consciousness

-in reality there are only possibilities

-when threatened - fight/flight

-limbic brain: joy/love/compassion/peace (is my brain made solely of limbic brain hahah?)

-equanimity - homeostasis

-cortical brain: reflect/question/creative

-neuroplasticity

-astral body made of stars

-four types of meditation:

*being - silent/repeat phrase

*feeling - evoke love/joy/healing

*thinking - reflect/who am i/what do I want

*doing - sense heart beat in fingertips/different parts of body - transfer blood flow

-15mins - I AM/OM - a day

-sleep: creativity/healing/recharged/spirituality

-the body is a process, not a structure

-to change the brain structure and lengthen the telomere you must include the following: meditation, healthy relationships and emotions, healthy food, sleep, exercise pattern

-awareness is the key to transformation and reinventing

-love awakens the soul <3

-the soul is the place beyond ego

-interoception - practice looking inside

-regulating and sensing activity of internal organs, heart, lungs, gut etc

-detach from automatic behavior - stress, anger... Stop/observe/detach

-conscious intent - conscious awareness

-have intentional awareness

-observe self without judging self

-first three years of life - mirror neurons

-consciousness: soul/cosmic/divine/unity

-divine consciousness - feeling others consciousness

-unity: where soul can merge with Universe

-one cell - two - four etc... 100, one trillion... so on

Like me, many of you probably have hoards of vintage scarves buried away in your closet. If not, they are super cheap and easy to find at your favorite vintage store/thrift shop/flea market.

This is a great way to put them to new use! you'll need:
- 2 silk scarves
- straight pins, sewing machine, thread
- 4 grommets
- approximately 20-22" chain (use old thrift store jewelry!)
-jewelry pliers to manipulate chain

begin by pinning the two together...... to create an hourglass shape down the middle, please note you want to keep this shape a little over-sized (in relation to your body). this is a no-zip dress, so you must make sure it can slip on & off easily.

sew the scarves together along the lines you marked with straight pins . a sewing machine is preferred for this step, but if you don't have one, it could certainly be done by hand.

next, mark on both sides of the dress (either with thread or tailor's chalk) where your straps will go. plan on placing them approximately 10" apart: you can either hand-stitch your chain straps directly to these points, or install grommets to loop them through.

using either your grommets or a needle & thread, attach 2 chain straps (it's up to you whether these match or not).

According to Yerka, he was pressured by his university instructors to eschew detail and realism in favor of the fashion of the times - but did not relent, adhering to the meticulous classic Flemish technique that still typifies his work. In time they came to see him as a brilliant - though troubled - talent. Yerka graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts at Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, specializing in printmaking. The intracloud lightning, known as an anvil crawler, is the most common form of lightning, with the electrical charge contained within a single cumulonimbus cloud. The most magical things in life are the ones that spring up where you least expect them — in the case of Sandra Foster, this picturesque tiny Victorian cottage!

It is an absolute dream of Victoriana: stacks of Limoges china with tiny rosebud patterns; chandeliers dripping crystal; billows of tissue-paper garlands. I absolutely adore this in every way!

This is all the more impressive because she renovated the 9-by-14-foot cottage, an old hunting cabin, herself. The cost of renovating and furnishing it: US$3,000. Score! Inspiring, I love it!

Korean artist Kim Joon has been fascinated with tattoo culture ever since his days in the military as a young man. Since, he has taken his obsession into the fine arts realm, treating the human body like a blank canvas. Interestingly, his images are not created as one might expect. No physical painting of the models is actually involved.

Joon's process via Art Rad Asia:

"First he uses 3-D animation software to create the body or bodies he wants, and he constructs them. Then after building the 3 dimensional body, he works to get the image he really desires. Then, he grafts on the type of skin he desires—it could be animal skin, artificial skin, human skin. It could be skin of a leather bag or skin of a shoe. omg rocks!

Huge rocks in Death Valley mysteriously move really far, all on their own. No one knows how, because no one's ever seen it happen.

In Death Valley there is a dry lake bed full of really unusual rocks. The "Sailing Stones" often appear with tracks behind them indicating that they have moved or have been pushed somehow. This is strange because some of these rocks are SEVERAL HUNDRED POUNDS. Furthermore, they can't have been pushed by humans or animals because there are no accompanying human or animal tracks.

There are competing theories as for how these rocks could have been moved. Some scientists believe that strong gusts of wind must somehow move these rocks. Others have suggested that they move from the flow of melting ice. It's difficult to believe either theory since there is no consistent pattern of movement for the rocks. Rocks near each other have moved in completely different directions, their paths are winding and random, and some of the rocks don't move at all!
